DIMINUITA plays acoustic swing jazz, with references to the Hot Club, renditions of D.Reinhardt, S.Grapelli and other composers of that era, but the group also plays own compositions. The natural, acoustic sound of the instruments is emphasized, and the main role is given to the freedom of improvisation, characteristic, distinct and unconditional as in all jazz music.
DIMINUITA combines freedom of musical expression, elements of bebop and influences of gipsy music. The violin is played by the Romania born violinist Damian Dudu. He has lived in Greece for many years and played with some of Greece’s greatest names in the music industry. In diminuita he offers the color and the traditional style of his country’s music, perfectly combining virtuosity and deep emotion. Giorgos Papadogiannis lead guitar, Damian Dudu violin, Effi Saranti rhythm guitar, Kostas Arsenis double bass.
