Duygu Alkan Trio- Music from Istanbul

 
Duygu Alkan (voice), Akram Ben Romdhane (oud) and Burak Sava (violin, lavta) are going to perform some Classical & Traditional Turkish music with lots of improvisations.

Duygu Alkan is a Classical Traditional Turkish music singer based in the Netherlands. In her musical career include two solo albums as well as three prestigious Award nominations. Throughout her musical career, Duygu has been performing in established venues in Europe and Middle East and has shared an ep album with prominent musicians. She studied at Ege University’s Turkish music conservatory, completed her master degree at Codarts University, Rotterdam.



Akram Ben Romdhane began to study the violin and the oud in his native country, in the classes of Rachid Koubaa and Bachir El Gharbi, at the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis. In particular, he obtained the Diploma in Arabic music, the Diploma in oud and a Bachelor's degree in violin and musicology. He also taught the oud and the violin at the National Conservatory of Tunis. His desire to perfect his art pushes him to travel and discover other musical approaches. He thus studied in the class of Thierry Huchin, at the Regional Conservatory of Créteil, to then obtain his Dem in violin. Afterwards, Akram will follow master classes with Alexis Galperine, Anna Haas, David Alberman and Dong-Suk Kang. He completed his specialized master's degree in violin in the class of Véronique Bogaerts, at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in . His desire to link instrumental practice to rigorous scientific research enabled him to join the Sorbonne Paris iv University, where he obtained a Master's degree in musicology.

Burak Sava started singing and also playing violin since adolescence. Since , he started to take singing and Tanbur lessons in the Ege University, the State Conservatory of Turkish Music. During this period he participated many concerts and projects as violin player and singer. He completed his master education at Codarts (Rotterdam Conservatory) on Turkish violin. He played with the Kudsi Erguner Ensemble, among others.
