Rebetiko Echoes from Athens: Yvonne Melissa, Giorgos Pangalos, Christos Iatrou

A lively trip through rebetiko music, moving from the streets of old Athens to the ports and neighborhoods of Asia Minor. We will play songs from the urban rebetiko tradition, from pre- and post-war classics to more modern compositions of the late 1980s and 1990s, music shaped by city life, migration, and shared roots.
With violin, guitar, bouzouki, and three voices, the sound stays close to the spirit of the genre while giving it a fresh twist. Giorgos, Yvonne, and Christos have been playing together for the past seven years, and that long friendship can be heard in the way they play and sing together. An evening of familiar melodies, strong rhythms, and good vibes, where Athens meets Brussels.

Yvonne Melissa: violin, voice
Giorgos Pangalos: bouzouki, Voice
Christos Iatrou: guitar, voice
