Duygu Alkan (vocals) & Ilias Markantonis (oud, vocals) present an intimate musical dialogue between voice and oud. Rooted in the traditions of Turkey, Greece, and Anatolia, their music moves fluidly between classical repertoire and contemporary compositions shaped by improvisation.
Duygu’s voice carries the emotional memory of shared cultures, while Ilias’ oud leads the musical architecture — guiding rhythm, harmony, and melodic direction, opening space for spontaneous creation and deep musical conversation.
Together, they offer a borderless soundscape where tradition and modern expression meet in a refined, timeless concert experience.
Duygu Alkan is a Turkish vocalist and songwriter based in the Netherlands, trained at Ege State Turkish Music Conservatory and Codarts Rotterdam, known for blending classical tradition with contemporary expression.
Ilias Markantonis is a Greek oud player trained in Athens and at Codarts Rotterdam, winner of the Amsterdam Ud Festival Prize (2024), known for using the oud as a leading voice through refined improvisation and makam artistry.
