Expositie Evelyne & Peter Palmer

As a young child, Evelyne Palmer was already painting, drawing, and doing handicrafts in her spare time. Later on, around her 20's she started making collages, and liked to mess around with acrylic paint.
At that age she set the basis of her art work.
She went to different academies following classes, but couldn't adapt to the strict rules of how you should paint etc.
She found out she needed to follow her own path, with no restrictions.
That is how she became an autodidact, embracing freedom of expression.
Her paintings and mixed media collages are made purely intuitive. She uses a lot of bright colors, and scrapimages out of magazines.
Her philosophie is that the Now is what counts. Her art work comes forth out of pure coincedences that come togerher as if coincedence does not exist.


After more than 30 years in scientific research and with retirement approaching, Peter Palmer was ready for a new challenge to remain creative and productive. He decided to let the final years of his regular career transition smoothly into painting. This was something he had wanted to start for a long time, but it was difficult to combine with all his other activities. After early retirement, he began exploring a wide range of styles, thinking that he could eventually find his ‘thing’ somewhere. To his surprise, he actually enjoyed creating something completely different each time. Nevertheless, all his works share a common characteristic: an emphasis on colors that appeal to him and a composition that encourages the viewer to take a visual journey across the painting. He usually uses his own photos and combines them to create a whole that offers much more than each photo individually.
This is now his second exhibition in more than 5 years, featuring many new works.
