Pianissimo: Piano recital Panagiotis Trochopoulos 'From Bach to Stravinsky'

Virtuose Greek pianist and student of the legendary Nikolai Petrov was born in November 1982 and graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory in May 2006. Some of his past appearances as a soloist with orchestra include performances of Brahms’ Second Concerto, Rachmaninov’s Third&Fourth Concertos and Paganini-Rhapsody, as well as Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in a concert that inaugurated the entry of the Republic of Croatia into Nato. His commercial recordings have received rave reviews by “Gramophone” and “MusicWeb International” and he has been presented as one of the "Rising Stars of the Russian Piano School" at the “House of Music” in Moscow, where he has also given the Russian premiere of Alkan's monumental “Concerto for Solo Piano”. Most recently he performed with outstanding success, along with the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Byron Fidetzis, Busoni’s epic Piano Concerto- a feat imaginable only by a select few èlite virtuosi…
