Improvisations, compositions and traditional musics and songs of Iran and Levant cultures
Robbe Kieckens is a multipercussionist in love with sounds and rhythms from all over the world. After an immersion in African rhythm as a kid growing up in Rwanda and a teenager in Senegal, he has been focussing on Middle-Eastern percussion the last 10 years. Thus he developped a musical understanding and technical vocabulary of both Arabic and Persian traditions amongst many others. Sensitive listening and communicating are his main goals in music, and the melodic way of playing that is so typical for the middle-eastern approach of percussion fits as a glove to his personality.
Born in Tehran and currently based Belgium, Shahab Azinmehr is a vocalist and virtuoso player of the tar - a long-necked, narrow-waisted lute-type instrument (from Persian: , literally “string”), found in many cultures in Iran, Azerbaijan, and further afield. With a background in the restoration of historical monuments, Shahab began his music career as a singer, later learning tar and setar under the guidance of masters including Rezâ Parvizâde and Dariush Talâ'i. Shahab has performed internationally, including as a member of Orpheus Xxi ensemble under the supervision of Jordi Savall.
Tarek Alsayed is a musician from Syria living and working in Belgium since as an Oud player composer, improviser and teacher of oriental music and Oud .
Tarek was a member in many music groups and projects and participated also in workshops and concerts in Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Turkey, France, Germany, Poland , Malta , Hungary, Portugal, Switzerland ,Austria,Luxembourg, Italy, Cyprus The Netherlands and Belgium.
